The upper caverns of Undermountain lie beneath the western city of
Istan. The dark caverns are popular among the city's many young adventurers seeking
adventure to prove themselves. A small inn near the center of Istan offers entry into the upper levels of the caverns ruled by Halaster. The entrance is an old dried well with a secret doorway at the bottom of it. The upper levels of Undermountain are not as dangerous as the levels filled with the dark elves and ettins... or the thieving scoundrels of Skullport, but many an adventurer has never returned. |
